When this fundraiser was brought to my attention, I was moved. The heart of it is to raise funds for this man to attend a Christian men’s conference (ManPower 2012). The part that you would not see is that the person who started the fundraiser, a long time friend of the beneficiary, could use more than a few blessings herself. She started it for her friend, independent of her own needs, because she believed that what he set out to do was right and good for him as well as all who are around him.
The selflessness of this act brought me into reflection. We spend a lot of time talking about what people should do and how they should behave. Is it right and good for us to look at others and their behaviors if we do not do as much for ourselves? Only you can answer that question for you. I just wanted to share something that moved me, with you.
